Institut Français: previous owner has sealed the covers under transparent plastic, though they were seriously deteriorated before; several repairs internally with transparent tape, & pages 15-20 have had their edges trimmed off (text area not affected); paper very yellowed and brittle throughout; last 2 pages and back cover detached from the rest of the book; on the plus side, the text appears to be free of marking, both plates are in good condition, and the whole book has been housed in a sturdy library slip case.
