Despatch and delivery times

Items on pages headed “publisher’s notice” are not held in stock and should be ordered using the links to Amazon UK, which has its own delivery specifications.

Other orders are usually despatched the next weekday after payment is received. If circumstances do not permit this for any reason (e.g., holidays, postal strikes, severe weather, lockdowns, etc.), you will be given any available information at the beginning of the ordering process. Large orders may also take slightly longer.

Some addresses no longer get daily deliveries, so that arrival times can vary considerably; however, at a UK address, and in normal circumstances, your order should not take longer than about a week to arrive. Orders are no longer accepted for delivery outside the UK.

Please note: if your order seems to be taking a long time to arrive, please contact your local delivery office: they may have tried to deliver unsuccessfully, and be holding your package for collection — and no, unfortunately they don’t always leave you a note! (Click here to find your delivery office on the Royal Mail website) If you have any queries or concerns, you can use the contact link at the top of this page to get in touch with Medievalbookshop .

Covid-19

Current advice is that packages travelling by post are low-risk in terms of transmitting infection. In more general terms, books seem to be relatively safe: current thinking is that the active virus remains viable for only about 24 hours on paper.
