Contact

You can use the contact links at the top of this page at any time to send your queries or comments.

Please bear in mind medievalbookshop is not a full-time business, so the response to emails may not be same day.

Page design

Pages are designed to make use of cascading style sheets (CSS) so as to work with most current browsers and operating systems.

Text captions are included with graphics for use by adaptive technology devices. However, pages linking to third party sites such as Amazon and Paypal may also incorporate graphics alongside their links, and you should check their own sites for their policies on adaptive technology.

This site uses server side includes (SSI) for repetitive elements, and javascript for scroll bar links. If your computer has difficulty with any page, please send details using the contact links at the top of this page.

Page construction is fairly basic so that they should display equally well on most current devices, but please get in touch if you find this is not the case.

Legibility

You can use your browser’s “Increase Font Size” command under the “View” menu if you have difficulty reading the text.

You can print pages out for easier reference. If you you have a laser printer and you turn off the “Print backgrounds” command in your browser’s printing settings, the page should print out as black text on a white background.

Text on this site currently makes use of Google fonts, which are designed specifically for internet use with on‑screen legibility in mind. You can use your browser’s preferences to override these, and to substitute with any fonts you prefer.

Navigation

Most pages in the site use a uniform colour scheme and format, with navigation links to the left-hand side of the screen on a green background (though some older pages show links on the right — these are gradually being updated to the new design).

Most third party links are coded to open in a new window, leaving the medievalbookshop window available in the background.

Language

The medievalbookshop web site and all of its mailouts and communications are written in UK English. Due to the high cost of translation work, it is not currently feasible to correspond in other languages.

Technical difficulties

You can get in contact using the contact links at the top of this page to send full details of the problem. This isn’t a 24-hour service, but you will get a response when your email is received. Please check first to ensure that your problem is not being caused at your ISP or by any settings on your own computer. Bear in mind that web traffic may be especially heavy at certain times of day, either at your ISP or worldwide, and this may slow down reception on your PC. If you are not receiving replies from medievalbookshop, please check the spelling of the email address you are using.
