How to order this book

This collection, previously announced as a new Placita Anglo-Normannica, brings together all significant accounts of lawsuits between 1066 and 1199, drawn from chronicles, charters and similar sources. It shows that the period before the formal limit of legal memory is by no means prehistoric, and provides the materials for an assessment of the institutional and procedural changes wrought in this period. This volume covers the reigns of Henry I and Richard I.

Contents: this volume contains case nos. 345-665 plus the indexes; for the introduction and remaining cases please consult vol. 1.
